The British actor will join Viola Davis in the upcoming heist thriller from the Oscar-winning director.

Daniel Kaluuya, who stars in this weekend’s acclaimed horror movie Get Out, has been cast in Widows, New Regency’s heist thriller being directed by Steve McQueen, THR has confirmed.

Viola Davis, Elizabeth Debicki and Michelle Rodriguez are among those on the cast list for the project, which centers on four women who team up to complete a heist. The story, based on the 1980s British TV series of the same name, starts out with a group of armed robbers being killed during a robbery. Their widows then decide to finish the job their spouses started. Kaluuya will play the hothead brother of a character played by Andre Holland.

McQueen wrote the script with Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn and will produce the film with Iain Canning.

Kaluuya, a British actor who appeared in Denis Villeneuve’s Sicario, nabbed the lead role in writer-director Jordan Peele's Get Out, the Blumhouse horror movie that is expected to dominate this weekend’s box office. The Universal release, which has a rare 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, is already over-performing and could scare up over $25 million.

Kaluuya currently is shooting Marvel Studios’ Black Panther.

He is repped by ICM Partners and Troika.
