Getfugu taps former Warners exec as CEO
Michael Jay Solomon to lead mobile search platformMichael Jay Solomon, a former president of Warner Bros. International TV, has been named CEO of a mobile search platform called Getfugu. He had for several months served as chairman of the company's board.
Getfugu president Carl Freer said Sunday that Solomon's experience in the entertainment industry and his success as a businessman was "exactly what the company needed as it begins to produce revenue."
"We are global in operations, and Michael Solomon has specific familiarity and understanding of business practices worldwide as we roll out our unique 'See it,' 'Say it' and 'Get it' technology," Freer said.
Solomon served as president of the international division of Warner Bros. Television from 1989-94 and subsequently set up his own indie company, Solomon Entertainment Enterprises.
Getfugu Inc.'s technology is designed to facilitate and encourage users by integrating the mobile phone's core strengths -- image, voice and location recognition -- into a single customizable application.
