'Ghostbusters' Director Paul Feig Staying With CAA
He is not joining the comedy exodus to UTA.
Paul Feig is staying at CAA, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Many of the director's fellow comedy luminaries at the agency are in the process of moving to UTA, where 11 CAA agents have relocated in the past seven days. One of them, new UTA partner Gregory McKnight, was among Feig's primary CAA reps, a group that still includes his longtime agent Renee Kurtz, as well as agency managing director Bryan Lourd.
Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Chris Pratt lead a pack of CAA-to-UTA clients that could end up in the hundreds. Melissa McCarthy, star of Feig’s Bridesmaids, The Heat and upcoming Spy, has not officially announced her decision, but she is widely expected to follow as well.
Feig is prepping to direct Sony's female-centric reboot of the Ghostbusters franchise, which will star McCarthy alongside UTA clients Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon. Saturday Night Live’s Leslie Jones, repped by APA, will also star.
