Giambattista Valli Reinvents Sheer Skirt Over Leotard Look at Couture Show
The trend continues after Taraji P. Henson most recently rocked the look at the BET Awards.
The sheer skirt over leotard trend lived on at Giambattista Valli.
The 50-year-old designer sent three revealing looks down the fall 2016 Haute Couture runway, including a diaphanous mint green empire gown (above), a black frou-frou mini dress and a pale lavender Grecian gown — all with crystal embellishments.

The look, which has become a red-carpet favorite and most recently was seen on Taraji P. Henson and Olivia Munn, is a fresh alternative to sexy cutouts and down-to-there necklines while still showing plenty of skin. It's also a solid choice for curvaceous bombshells and ball gown-averse millennials alike. It soon could rival the high-low hemline, which boasted a solid awards season run from 2011 to 2015 in Hollywood.
