Gina Gershon to star in indie 'Five Minarets'
Danny Glover, Robert Patrick also cast in film
Gina Gershon, Danny Glover and Robert Patrick will lead the cast of the indie film "Five Minarets in New York."
The movie is the English-language debut of Turkish writer-director Mahsun Kirmizigul, whose previous film, "I Saw the Sun," was Turkey's foreign-language film Oscar submission last year. Gershon will star as Maria, the wife of a Turkish scholar who is arrested by federal authorities after being wrongfully accused of a crime.
The APA-repped Gershon is in theaters in the Taylor Hackford-directed drama "Love Ranch." The actress is filming the Maya Entertainment crime story "The Exodus of Charlie Wright."
The ICM-repped Glover most recently appeared in "2012," "Blindness" and "Death at a Funeral."
Patrick, repped by Paradigm and the Coronel Group, recently appeared in "The Men Who Stare at Goats," "Strange Wilderness" and "Bridge to Terabithia."
A former singer, Kirmizigul also is the writer-director of "The White Angel" and the co-writer of "The Wings of the Night."
