'Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' Soundtrack Music Video Debuts (Video)
David Fincher directed the clip for Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' version of "Immigrant Song" featuring vocals by Karen O.
Remember that trailer for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo that featured the mesmerizing, high-adrenaline version of Led Zeppelin's “Immigrant Song”?
The song now has a music video, and it’s full of grainy black and blue images that show a lot and nothing at all. The clip will also serve as the opening credits for the upcoming film based on the novel by Stieg Larsson.

The video for the song, which features Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on vocals, was directed by David Fincher, who also helmed Dragon Tattoo. The video shows a montage of low-resolution images including cables, eyelashes, eyeballs, a pair of lips and a match flying through the air. The face being featured is clearly that of Lisbeth Salander (played by Rooney Mara), the heroine of the tale.
"I'm happy with how it came out and I think the way it's used in the film it's going to be one of those moments of, 'Wow, that was cool,' which on paper sometimes doesn't look that way," Trent Reznor, who composed the score for the film with Atticus Ross, told THR.

Fincher is of course no stranger to directing music videos. Throughout his career, he has helmed some of the biggest and most well-known music videos in history, including Madonna's "Express Yourself," Paula Abdul's "Straight Up," and Aerosmith's "Janie's Got a Gun."

The score for the film will also include another eerie cover – of Bryan Ferry’s “Is Your Love Strong Enough.”
Reznor and Ross won a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for the previous work with Fincher on The Social Network’s original score.
The American version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo stars Daniel Craig, Mara and Christopher Plummer. It is set for a Dec. 21 release by Columbia Pictures.
