'Modern Family's' Sarah Hyland Reflects On Her Comments About 'Glee's' Lea Michele (Video)
"People didn’t take it in a humorous way," the actress told THR.
It’s been about a month since Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland felt the heat from Glee fans around the world after she mocked Lea Michele’s red carpet pose on The Fashion Police.
The 20-year-old actress said she saw Michele doing this pose when she attended the Glee 3-D movie premiere. “She sticks out her collarbone to make her look skinnier and she sticks out her lips,” said Hyland as she attempted to replicate the pose. "It's very strange, it's very strange.”

Right after the incident, Hyland tweeted to Michele, “this is all so stupid. It was meant to be humorous, not hurtful. Let's talk. I'll see you tonight?”
That night was Emmy night, where Modern Family swept the awards show, taking the title of Best Comedy once again.

So did Hyland get to talk to Michele about her controversial words?
No, she told The Hollywood Reporter at the American Music Awards nominations announcement on Tuesday.
“They were blown out of proportion. People didn’t take it in a humorous way,” Hyland said of the comments she had made on The Fashion Police.
“It’s just unfortunate,” said Hyland, who hosted the red carpet pre-show.
Adele leads the AMA pack this year with four nominations, while Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, The Band Perry and Taylor Swift each earned three nods. Nicki Minaj and Pitbull announced the complete nominees list on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
