Glenn Beck launches TheBlaze.com
News, opinion site latest media venture for talk show hostGlenn Beck is already a TV and radio star, draws big crowds to live events and has reached people's bookshelves. Now the conservative commentator has added a news and opinion Website to his media empire.
TheBlaze.com launched Monday night and is being edited by Scott Baker, formerly of Breitbart TV, Mediaite reports.
In a message on his new site, Beck says: "There comes a time when you have to stop complaining and do something. And so we decided to hire some actual journalists to launch a new Website."
He also laments the state of media, saying: "It's so hard to find a place that helps me make sense of the world I see."
Among the content on the new Beck site Tuesday morning are a story about the Huffington Post pulling an article offering $100,000 bounty for any proof of a Beck sex tape, a blog post with the headline "Talk Radio Fan Jay Leno?" and an article about a New York Times columnist saying he underestimated Beck.
