GoDigital and Variance Films Merge to Form Amplify
GoDigital, Inc., best known as a distributor of films on the digital platform, and indie distributor Variance Films are merging to form a new all-rights film releasing entity known as Amplify.
Amplify plans to release seven to 10 films per year across all platforms. It will look at titles on a film-by-film basis to find the best way to reach its potential audience, looking at day and date strategies, as well as theatrical, digital, or traditional or non-traditional patterns.
Amplify will be present at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival and operate in full acquisition mode.
Variance president Dylan Marchetti will now act as the company’s exec vp theatrical & marketing and will be based in New York. He joins recently hired exec vp distribution & merchandising Kent Sanderson.
GoDigital CEO Logan Mulvey will act as Amplify’s CEO. All three will lead the new company.
Variance and GoDigital now exist as labels under the Amplify umbrella. Variance will focus on indie and foreign films while GoDigital continues to stamp out a footing in the digital sphere.
