GoFish nets Moloshok as exec chair
EmptyWeb video network GoFish, which counts MTV Networks among its investors, has appointed HBO executive Jim Moloshok to executive chairman, the company said Thursday.
Moloshok was president of digital initiatives at the Time Warner-owned HBO, and before that was senior vp entertainment and content relationships for Yahoo. While at Yahoo, he oversaw the movies, TV, games and news departments, among other areas.
Before Yahoo, Moloshok was president of Warner Bros. Online, where he helped to evolve that company's online strategy and form separate Web marketing and sales teams. Before that he was vp marketing at Warner Bros.
"Jim's addition to our management team and our board of directors will be a great benefit to GoFish as we continue to build our advertising and video distribution network," GoFish president Tabreez Verjee said. "His extensive experience building businesses at the convergence of entertainment and technology at Yahoo, Warner Bros. and HBO is unparalleled and will be a great asset to GoFish."
A U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing this month revealed that GoFish had partnered with Viacom's MTV Networks to distribute that company's content on a nonexclusive basis. In return, MTVN will get 1 million shares of GoFish.
