5:15 p.m. Alfre Woodard and producer husband Roderick Spencer enjoy salmon appetizers at the Fox viewing party.
5:23 p.m. Attorney Nina Shaw mingles at the Fox party to root on her clients in 12 Years a Slave and Captain Phillips.
7:17 p.m. It's dead silence at the Fox viewing party as Alfonso Cuaron is named best director over Steve McQueen.
7:57 p.m. After a long night of losses in various categories, there's an uproar at the Fox viewing party as 12 Years a Slave wins best picture in the drama category.
8:20 p.m. American Horror Story star Evan Peters takes over the dance floor at the Fox party. Nearby Modern Family patriarch Ed O'Neill is introducing his offscreen children to partygoers.
8:25 p.m. Meryl Streep waits to be let in to The Weinstein Co./Netflix party.
8:26 p.m. The members of U2 hang out in the long hallway connecting people from the Hilton lobby to the TWC/Netflix party venue.
8:30 p.m. Kevin Spacey and Corey Stoll stand and chat with well-wishers at the TWC/Netflix party as their House of Cards co-star, and the show's sole winner Sunday night, Robin Wright, canoodles on a nearby couch with new fiance Ben Foster, who's also celebrating for another reason: a box-office topping weekend for his film Lone Survivor.
8:32 p.m. Harvey Weinstein holds court in the roped-off area of the TWC/Netflix party before heading down to greet new arrivals U2, Idris Elba, CBS CEO Les Moonves and wife Julie Chen and others.
8:35 p.m. Diddy arrives in the roped-off area of the TWC/Netflix party, eventually joined by Bono, with whom he poses for a few personal photos.
8:35 p.m. Lorne Michaels quietly sneaks out of the NBCUniversal party. Fifteen minutes later winner and co-host Amy Poehler leaves with her Globe in hand as well-wishers congratulate her.
8:49 p.m. Fox Filmed Entertainment CEO Jim Gianopulos and his daughter Mimi celebrate 12 Years a Slave's win at the Fox afterparty.
8:50 p.m. Posing for photographers at the entrance to the Fox party, Benedict Cumberbatch walks over to one partygoer snapping an iPhone picture. He calls her "rude" and suggests she ask next time.
8:52 p.m. Elisabeth Moss clutches her statuette at the HBO party, while five feet away Mike Tyson draws a crowd. Minutes later, Mariel Hemingway interrupts Tyson's interview with THR at the bash by the downstairs pool at the Beverly Hilton.
9 p.m. The first of many odd pairings of the evening: Harry Hamlin pays homage to Time Warner's Jeff Bewkes at the HBO party.
9:02 p.m. Zooey Deschanel holds her high heels while chatting with a group by the bar at the Fox party. Meanwhile, the cast of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the unexpected heroes of the night, celebrate their wins by holding court in a crowd five deep -- screaming and raising their glasses.
9:03 p.m. In line for parties outside Beverly Hilton, Rex Lee (Entourage) is asked what most impressed him about the Globes: "Watching it on TV, I couldn't believe all the f---in' bleeps. Seems like everybody had a lot of bleeps to say. I'm a fan of four-letter words; I don't see why they have to bleep them."
9:05 p.m. Sofia Vergara leaves the NBCUniversal/Focus Features party in a crowded elevator.
9:07 p.m. In one corner of the NBCU/Focus party, racing legend Niki Lauda chats with someone while Rush's director Ron Howard and star Chris Hemsworth chat with Howard's actress daughter Bryce Dallas Howard.
9:08 p.m. Matt Damon is wearing a sling on his left arm at HBO. He didn't have one during the show and the nature of the injury is unknown.
9:10 p.m. Best actor in a motion picture, drama, winner Matthew McConaughey arrives at the NBCU/Focus party and is ushered over to a corner.
9:14 p.m. The entire Fox party explodes into applause as the cast of 12 Years a Slave enters the party, waving their Globes around.
9:15 p.m. Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, in a shiny Jenny Packham dress, marvels at the craziness of her first Globes party. Meanwhile, Jim Gianopulos welcomes Steve McQueen and Michael Fassbender to the Fox party.
9:20 p.m. Fox topper Kevin Reilly says a second season of best comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a "no-brainer." He's at the Fox Party chatting with showrunners Dan Goor and Mike Schur, the latter of whom admits that he cried when Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler won. (Schur and Goor executive produce both series.)
9:23 p.m. At the NBCU/Focus party, McConaughey tells THR's Scott Feinberg, when he urges the actor to begin every acceptance speech with "Alright, alright, alright," as he has thus far: "You know, those were the first words I ever said onscreen! I didn't know I was gonna win [tonight], so I didn't know what I was gonna say. But that seemed like a good option!"
9:28 p.m. Jacqueline Bisset, still breathless (pictured below), heads down the crowded Beverly Hilton hall toward the Warner Bros./InStyle party.
9:23 p.m. Judd Apatow philosophizes about writing on the patio of the HBO party.
9:25 p.m. Matt Damon leaves the HBO party and exits the hotel.
9:30 p.m. The fire marshal has closed the Warner Bros./InStyle party. The line in the lobby is huge; the second person in line who is not getting in is Arrow showrunner Greg Berlanti.
9:30 p.m. Breaking Bad winner Vince Gilligan and AMC president Charlie Collier are among the last guests at the AMC bash. Collier is wearing his Breaking Bad cufflinks, which proved lucky once again. Gilligan hasn't figured out where his Golden Globe will live, but reveals his recent Emmy rests on the dresser in his bedroom.
9:32 p.m. Gregory Goeckner glows in the Hilton hallway after his first show as Hollywood Foreign Press Association COO. He's accompanied by his wife, Shirley, and daughter, Madison.
9:33 p.m. David Spade embraces Jerry Weintraub as they pass the bar at the HBO party.
9:34 p.m. Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick catch a golf cart ride from the Hilton to the Fox Pavilion for the Fox party.

9:47 p.m. Samberg, at Fox, on what he thought as he watched his win: "I was watching another person! I semi-pride myself on having enough wits about me to be sarcastic at all times, but my wits abandoned me [when I won] -- I forgot to thank my parents! Please tell them I love them!"
9:51 p.m. The lobby of the Beverly Hilton is buzzing as the party hopping is in full swing. Orange Is the New Black's Taylor Schilling, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are among those on the move as the line for HBO's bash swells.
10:02 p.m. Back at the Fox party, Steve McQueen, with Golden Globe in hand, begins busting a move with friends as "Crank That" by Soulja Boy starts playing.
10:05 p.m. The NBC party is thinning out but a side room -- called Gold Meets Golden -- promoting the Sochi Olympics, which the net will broadcast, is packed with people signing a huge board wishing the athletes well. Among those who have signed: Chris Hemsworth and Globes winner Matthew McConaughey (see below).
10:06 p.m. Al Roker asks for an intro to Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams. A flack prefaces the exchange by assuring Williams that he's "big in America."
10:07 p.m. Christoph Waltz chats with a fan and poses for a photo in the very crowded entrance to the HBO party.
10:07 p.m. At the Fox party, Alfre Woodard greets her 12 Years a Slave co-star Lupita Nyong'o, telling her, "You look just stunning."
10:10 p.m. Michael K. Williams (Boardwalk Empire, The Wire) animatedly talks with Idris Elba as dancers hit the floor dancing to "Money (That's What I Want)" at the HBO party. Elba tells THR, "Even though we didn't win best actor, we won best song for Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, and that's because Mr. Chadwick made the movie -- and that's a win."
10:10 p.m. Kerry Washington hugs Corey Stoll in the Hilton lobby.
10:11 p.m. Judd Apatow and wife Leslie Mann try to rush toward the exit stairs at HBO, but they are repetitively stopped for hellos, making it a slow process.
10:14 p.m. Matthew McConaughey looks a bit frustrated, possibly by the throngs of people, as he walks down the stairs to Circa 55 Restaurant with wife Camila Alves, followed by a huge line of people in his group.
10:15 p.m. Taylor Swift goes running through the Hilton lobby in a hurry, either to get somewhere or to avoid the hordes of fans lining the hall.
10:19 p.m. There is a massive commotion, which turns out to be Lady Gaga (below), encircled by a team of body guards and bedecked in jewelry by Misahara and L'Dezen, making her way through the Hilton lobby, destination unknown.
10:26 p.m. Modern Family's Steve Levitan arrives at the HBO party. He calls the show "as quirky as ever," likely a nod to Brooklyn Nine-Nine's upset win in the comedy series category. Meanwhile, Mike Tyson relaxes at a table with friends and winner Elisabeth Moss makes her way out.
10:30 p.m. Sofia Vergara hits the dance floor at the HBO party.

11:30 p.m. At the Warner Bros./InStyle party, Bella Thorne and her sister are getting their groove on to "Jesse's Girl" at the very raucous affair, where half the place is on the dance floor. Sharon Osbourne stumbles into a throng of people.
11:30 p.m. Breaking Bad's Betsy Brandt spots AMC president Charlie Collier at the HBO party and gives him a big hug. Sofia Vergara takes a quick smoke break before heading back to the dance floor. Inside, Nebraska star Will Forte chats with How I Met Your Mother's Josh Radnor. Newsroom EP Alan Poul mingles by the bar, as partygoers debate the best sighting of the night. A standout: Lady Gaga, who turned up earlier with boyfriend and Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney.
11:37 p.m. At the HBO party, Will Forte tells THR, "I've never been to the Golden Globes before. It was incredibly exciting to be up for awards, and then getting to see Andy Samberg, Amy Poehler -- hello dear." Sarah Paulson, resplendent in a shimmery, feathery white dress, shyly buries her head against Forte's shoulder and whispers something, then graciously poses for a picture (see below).
11:40 p.m. Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul is trailed by fans as he makes his way through the Hilton lobby. Meanwhile, a disgruntled Idris Elba drops a series of expletives as he tries to track down his car outside.
12:10 a.m. Sidekick summit: Lloyd from Entourage (Rex Lee) chatting with Hello Ladies' wheelchair-bound lothario (Kevin Weisman) at the inside bar of the HBO party.
12:15 a.m. Revenge's Gabriel Mann graciously poses for photo after photo with fans outside the Beverly Hilton. One tells him, "You just made my night."
12:30 a.m. At the HBO party, Eastbound & Down's Elizabeth De Razzo tells THR that she'll leave for Chile on Jan. 30 to film The 33, the upcoming drama about the Chilean miners. De Razzo said the cast includes Cote De Pablo, Antonio Banderas and Jennifer Lopez, but it was reported that Lopez dropped out of the project.
1:00 a.m. Modern Family's Sarah Hyland screaming on the phone with her limo driver, overheard saying "I don't understand what you're saying, where are you?" Says to us and those around her, "We're under a blue awning, but he's under a white tent in the middle of nowhere!"
