Golden Globes: Nicole Kidman’s Ethereal Rock 'n' Roll Beauty
Her makeup artist, Charlotte Tilbury, shares exclusive behind-the-scenes pics from the day.
Forget the statue standings (Nicole Kidman's best supporting actress in a motion picture category went to Viola Davis); thanks to her hair and makeup, the Golden Globes still proved a win for Kidman, 49. Hairstylist Kylee Heath, who used Leonor Greyl products to create a half-up messy bun “with crisscross effect on top,” calls the Lion nominee’s look “ethereal and rock 'n' roll.” Likewise, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury took a cue from the actress’ Alexander McQueen dress to create a soft, glowy look with a touch of edge from “minky violet gray” shadow hues and Rock 'n' Kohl liner on the eyes (all from Tilbury’s eponymous line). When Kidman's husband, Keith Urban, came into the getting-ready room at the couple’s home to have Heath do a hair touch-up, says Heath, “When he saw Nicole, he looked at me and Charlotte and said, ‘Nice job, girls.’ ”
London-based Tilbury, who also counts Jennifer Aniston and Kate Moss as clients, let Pret-a-Reporter in on the getting-ready fun with a photo diary documenting her day, from her room-service power breakfast to the red-carpet essential she’s never without for herself and her clients — her Filmstar bronzer, which she used on Alicia Vikander for last year’s Globes and on Amal Clooney for the 2015 awards show.
