Japan's T-Joy, Hong Kong's Orange Sky Golden Harvest Form Pact
The two exhibitors will share movies and other digital content.
TOKYO – Japanese exhibitor T-Joy and Hong Kong’s Orange Sky Golden Harvest Group (OGSH) have announced a strategic alliance on movies and other digital content across Asia.
OGSH, successor to Golden Harvest will show content from T-Joy at its 57 cinemas in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Singapore, while T-Joy will reciprocate with OGSH content at its 17 multiplexes in Japan.
“We are also exploiting the potential of our digital cinema systems to the fullest and devoting our resources to ODS [other digital stuff] bringing a wide variety of attractive content, such as plays, martial arts, sporting events and plays, including live performances to audiences through the screens in our theatres,” said T-Joy in a statement.
“In the future, treating the whole of Asia as a single “Co-market” … and with the help of the many people who share this way of thinking we firmly believe that pursuing this path will raise the level of the whole of the Asian visual content industry,” continued T-Joy.
T-Joy's CEO Naoshi Yoda was given the Exhibitor of the Year award at the CineAsia event in Hong Kong last week.
