Google to Sponsor Free Wi-Fi on Planes

To promote its Chrome Web browser, Virgin America, Delta and AirTrain will offer gratis surfing this holiday season.

Google is launching free in-flight Wi-Fi this holiday season, it announced Monday.

To promote its Chrome browser, it'll provide internet service inside Virgin America, Delta and AirTran flights.

Enjoy it while you can.

Last week, it was announced that in-flight surfing may soon be banned due to terrorist threats. New Scientist reported that a bomb may be able to be detonated on a plane via the internet.
