Google Hosts Annual Venice Art Walk
The Frank Gehry designed search engine headquarters will transform into an art gallery to benefit the Venice Family Clinic.
Google is hosting this year’s Venice Art Walk, which kicks off May 19 and ends the following day, in support of the Venice Family Health Clinic.
The community celebration will take place at multiple Venice locations with architecture tours of landmark residences scheduled for both days.

A silent auction held at the Google office, designed by prominent architect Frank Gehry, will cap off the weekend. The 340 Main Street location, which was built to look like oversized binoculars from the exterior, will be transformed into an art gallery and proceeds of the auction items will benefit the Clinic.
“Every year there are architectural landmarks that people get to tour and visit that they may otherwise only get to experience from outside or from a book so it seemed like the most fitting crown jewel to be able to invite people to see inside of the Google structure and see what Frank has done,” film executive Hutch Parker and Venice Family Clinic board member told The Hollywood Reporter.
“It’s such a centerpiece of the Venice landscape and it seemed natural for us. Luckily they were supportive and agreed,” he continued.
Google’s transformed offices will also include celebrity DJs, food trucks to entertain and please the palates of attendees.

“When Google moved to Venice, they reached out to Venice Family Clinic to participate in their grand opening,” says Elizabeth Forer, executive director of the VFC. “It meant so much to us that Google embraced and supported Venice Family Clinic, a non-profit that has helped provide health care to this community for over 40 years.”
The art walk is held every year by the Venice Family Clinic, which is committed to providing free, quality healthcare to people in need. Their goal is to help raise funds for their programs and facilities that support over 25,000 low-income and uninsured families on the Westside of Los Angeles.
“In that painting you buy, you could be giving a [medical services to] a family that otherwise wouldn’t have health care for the year,” Parker said.
Featured artist David Trulli sketched a scene of Venice titled "Tranquility Base" that has become the event's signature image. A limited-edition t-shirt featuring the image is available to purchase on the clinic's website.
The facilities ongoing success and growth have largely benefitted from its industry residents.

“Venice Family Clinic has been fortunate to have innovators in our community including artists, celebrities, entertainment and technology leaders support this event for over thirty years," Forer said.
“I think the connection between creative vision and community support is Venice Art Walk’s legacy,” she said.
