Gordon Prend upped at Anchor Bay Ent.

Named executive vice president of worldwide marketing

Gordon Prend has been promoted to executive vice president of worldwide marketing at Anchor Bay Entertainment. He was involved in the launch of the Anchor Bay Films division and will continue to oversee all home entertainment releases, including pictures from Overture Films, as well as Anchor Bay's fitness line.

Anchor Bay Entertainment president Bill Clark announced the promotion, saying, "Gordon has been instrumental in the creation and launch of the Anchor Bay Films division, heading up marketing and distribution as a key member of the management team of our new feature film division. He has successfully guided our ever-expanding worldwide marketing efforts on the theatrical and home entertainment fronts."

Under Prend's direction, the company will release "Spread," starring Ashton Kutcher, "The Open Road" with Justin Timberlake and Jeff Bridges, Peter Hyams' "Beyond A Reasonable Doubt" with Michael Douglas, Jesse Metcalfe and Amber Tamblyn, as well as the newly acquired "City Island," starring Andy Garcia.

Prend previously held senior marketing positions at Universal Studios, Warner Bros. and Buena Vista Home Entertainment. He most recently served as senior vice president, marketing, at First Look Home Entertainment.
