Gordy Haab to Score 'Star Wars: Battlefront' Video Game
The composer's credits include scores for Activision/AMC's 'The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct' and Microsoft's 'Kinect: Star Wars.'
Award-winning TV and video game composer Gordy Haab has signed on to score Star Wars: Battlefront, Electronic Arts' hotly-anticipated new action video game.
Haab has composed music for Star Wars games before, recording more than two hours of original, John Williams-inspired music for Microsoft's Kinect: Star Wars, including the title "The Felucia Podraces," which won the best song, video game, honor at the 2012 Hollywood Music in Media awards.
More recently, Haab composed the score to the Activision/AMC action title The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct.
"As a lifelong fan, Star Wars — especially its great music — has shaped who I am as a composer," Haab said. "Writing the music for this amazing game truly has been my dream come true. I've been like an excited kid since the moment I put the first note on the page."
With the upcoming release of Disney and Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, interest in Battlefront has reached fever pitch. Reviews of the game have helped. Battlefront was the big winner of this year's Gamescom, Europe's No. 1 video game conference, taking five awards at the Cologne event earlier this year.
Star Wars: Battlefront bows Nov. 17 for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.
