Jeffrey Bacon and Michael Gottberg have joined the marketing agency the Designory, where they will launch its new Los Angeles operation called TDLA, Designory CEO Paul Hosea said.

TDLA will focus on alternative and impact marketing for theatrical, home entertainment, video game and corporate clients.

Bacon, who will serve as TDLA managing director, has spent more than 25 years working on strategic marketing campaigns and business plans for entertainment, auto and lifestyle brands. He has worked with nearly all of the major film studios and networks on projects including trailers, TV spots, print campaigns, broadcast graphics, network identities, outdoor campaigns, in-store displays and brochures. Additionally, he heads The Hollywood Reporter's Key Art Awards Student Competition.

Gottberg, who is becoming TDLA senior strategist, is a 10-year veteran of DreamWorks, where he worked on campaigns for the three "Shrek" films, "Gladiator," "American Beauty" and "Road to Perdition." He also has held positions at Paramount Pictures, Walt Disney Studios, 20th Century Fox and Universal Pictures.

The Designory is part of Omnicom Group Inc.'s DAS network of companies. Headquartered in Long Beach, Calif., the Designory is a hybrid advertising agency, design shop and interactive firm. The launch of its Los Angeles office follows the opening of the firm's Nashville operation in August.
