Grammy’s Hot Parties
Just when you thought you couldn’t attend another awards-season event comes the weeklong celebration of music’s biggest night. Expect to see pop’s marquee names all over town as Grammy nominees including Lady Gaga, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Rihanna and Bruno Mars make the party rounds with executives in tow. And while belt-tightening has diminished the size of label-sponsored soirees, it hasn’t affected the quantity: nearly 20 invite-only events are scheduled around the three-hour broadcast (8 p.m. Feb. 13 on CBS), including private concerts by Beyonce and Usher. One noticeable absence this year? Jimmy Iovine’s late-night hang at his own Tom Tom Club. Instead, the Interscope Geffen A&M chairman will host a small dinner for a handful of high-level execs, which begs the question: Will Universal Music’s Doug Morris show, or is he bound for the Sony bash?
