Great Works taps Carlstrom as CEO

Also will step into role as exec creative director

NEW YORK -- Creative marketing and communications agency Great Works America has named film and ad executive Fredrik Carlstrom CEO and executive creative director.

The company said he will use his experience in both marketing and entertainment to help Great Works create cutting-edge campaigns that encourage consumers to interact with brands. The company has moved to position itself as an agency that bridges the worlds of advertising, art, media and entertainment.

"The shift in marketing, where traditional one-way advertising has to give way for an ongoing, active dialogue with consumers, requires a creative leadership for any agency trying to stay ahead of the curve", said Patrik Persson, founding partner and chairman of Great Works.

Carlstrom had already worked with the company through a partnership with his film production firm Third Factory. H&M, Nokia and Absolut Vodka are among Great Works' client roster.
