The Olympic diving champion is in Rio as a commentator for Brazilian broadcaster Globo.

Greg Louganis has signed with manager Greg H. Sims, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.

The former diver, who won four gold medals in the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games, is the inaugural client of Arya Artist Management, the new management division of Sims' company Vesuvio Entertainment. The two first met when Louganis appeared in the 1997 film Touch Me, which Sims produced.

"I've had the luxury of knowing [Sims] for many years, and seeing the great people that he has worked with both as a manager and a producer," Louganis said Wednesday in a statement. "With more going on for me than ever before in very diverse endeavors, this relationship is a perfect fit."

Louganis is currently in Rio serving as an Olympic commentator for Brazilian broadcaster Globo. His HBO documentary Back on Board: Greg Louganis was nominated for a Sports Emmy this year and also inspired a petition to get him recognized on the Wheaties box for the first time. This summer, Louganis appeared on the front of more than 1 million cereal boxes as part of Wheaties' legend series.

"I am thrilled to be in business with Greg Louganis, not only an Olympic athlete and the greatest diver in history, but also an icon, actor, civil rights activist and hero on so many different levels to so many different people throughout the world," Sims said in a statement. "Mr. Louganis' recent news makes him more relevant than ever on a global level."

Sims added that several other deals for Louganis will be announced in the coming months. In May, Louganis was in attendance at the Los Angeles launch of the U.S. branch of Princess Charlene of Monaco's water safety foundation before flying to Dublin to speak at the inaugural summit for Crossing the Line, which aims to ease the transition for elite athletes to post-competitive life.

Arya is taking point on Louganis' team of reps, which also now includes Burbank-based Scenario Digital, which will handle the social media strategy for his brand.

"We are very excited to be working with Greg Louganis," said Scenario CEO Jeff Schroeder, a former Live Nation executive vp of digital, in a statement. "We are honored to be a part of his fantastic team and to be giving Greg's social presence the voice and exposure he deserves."
