Greta Van Susteren Criticizes Piers Morgan's 'Fancy Launch Party'
The Fox News host blogged that such an event, honoring Morgan's forthcoming CNN show, seems "out of touch with the rest of the country."
Fox News Channel's Greta Van Susteren took issue with what she called Piers Morgan's "fancy launch party" for his new CNN show.
Morgan was honored Tuesday night in Manhattan for his upcoming interview show, which debuts Monday in Larry King's former time slot at 9 p.m.
"It is so different over here at Fox than CNN," she blogged Wednesday. "I can't imagine Fox News Channel or friend of Fox News Channel having some fancy 'launch party' at a fancy NYC Upper East Side address with a bunch of celebrities for a new cable news show. It seems so out of touch with the rest of the country, doesn't it?"
Van Susteren claimed that Fox News celebrates milestones "after the fact" and that CNN is going the "risky route" to do so beforehand.
"At Fox, we just get hired and go to work (and we are very glad to have our jobs!)," she wrote. "We can celebrate later (and we have.) Maybe I am wrong, but since I have been here (nine years this month), I can recall no fancy launch parties for Fox News Channel programs or anchors."
