Guys Get in on the Colored Hair Trend at the American Music Awards
They’re embracing all the colors of the rainbow.
Every red carpet at music awards shows over the last few years has seen at least a few starlets rocking pink, purple or blue hair. Oftentimes it was dip-dyed, other times ombré or watercolor. The ladies seem to have gotten over the colored-hair trend and passed the baton to a slew of male musicians.
At the American Music Awards on Sunday, Joe Jonas showed up on the red carpet — with his new band DNCE — with electric blue hair. He paired the new 'do with an oxblood leather jacket and pants (one of the "it" colors of the night in both fashion and face).
When he took the stage to honor the victims of the attacks in Paris, Jared Leto showed off his hot pink hair with dark roots, perhaps a sign he's growing it out. Michael Clifford of 5 Seconds of Summer walked the carpet with his bandmates and his shockingly bright fuchsia-red hair in a look that looked inspired by Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong.
And three of the four members of Walk the Moon went colorful with their hair looks. Kevin Ray’s was a faded-out pink, Sean Waugaman’s bright blue, and lead singer Nicholas Petricca had a mohawk-esque ‘do that was tinted rainbow colors from blue to green to pink. Now that the dudes are doing it, has colored hair officially jumped the shark?
