Gwyneth Paltrow Dismisses $1 Million Record Deal Reports
“I really would love to make a record, but I don’t know exactly how you do that so it’s not cheesy,” she tells THR.
Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t heading into the studio just yet.
Earlier this month, reports surfaced that she inked a deal worth nearly $1 million, but she tells THR so far she only has received “a lot of offers.”
“The truth is, I really would love to make a record, but I don’t know exactly how you do that so it’s not cheesy,” she says. “I would love to do it.”
The Country Strong and Glee star — who has performed at both the Oscars and Grammys — says her album would likely have an “indie” sound. “I have to just figure out what I do want,” she says. “I am having fun with it, though, even if it’s kind of giving me a mid-life crisis because I don’t know who I am anymore.”
She is getting tips from husband, Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, which THR previously reported. “I trust him so much,” she says. “If I do it, he just wants it to be really good.”
As for her Glee gig, she says she may return to the Fox show again.
“I have not signed a contract — it’s very loose,” she says. “I’m definitely done for this year, but to be honest I think it’s the best job I’ve ever had. All my friends love it because they say I finally get to play myself! I love it. I’m sure I’ll go back there at some point.”
