Gwyneth Paltrow Launches Valentino Collab, Goop Pop-Up Store

Goop the halls this holiday season.

It’s been a busy holiday season for Gwyneth Paltrow and her Goop elves, who have been working hard to roll out a number of different exciting plans in the coming weeks.

To start, the actress is launching a Goop pop-up store in New York City — but it will be selling more than just your run-of-the-mill Chia Oils and Santa Monica-scented candles. WWD reports that inside this temporary space, which will run from Nov. 23 to Dec. 24 at the Time Warner Center in Midtown, Goop will launch a 25-piece capsule collection of apparel and accessories in partnership with Valentino.

The collaboration marks the first time that Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, who starred on the cover of THR's 25 Best Red-Carpet Designers issue alongside Paltrow, have worked with a celebrity for a line. Rather appropriately, the collection is inspired by Wonder Woman. 

“To me, it’s a fantastic and resonant idea because everybody is working, having kids, trying not to miss a soccer game while at the same time being on a conference call,” Paltrow told the New York Times. “The modern woman is a wonder woman.”

Though Goop tends to air more on the refined, minimalist side of things aesthetic-wise, the collection features a welcome, whimsical take on a grungier style. This edgier flair is especially apparent in the Terry Richardson-lensed campaign images, which show Paltrow modeling a gold star-printed tulle skirt, vintage-inspired band jacket and sneakers while hanging curbside in front of a graffiti Valentino x Goop logo.  

The collection retails between $275 for a leather bracelet and $10,500 for a moto jacket (not too shabby when compared to the prices on Goop’s 2015 gift guide), and will also be available online at Goop.com beginning Nov. 23.
