Hailee Steinfeld Signs With CAA (Exclusive)
Rather than following her ICM agent Meredith Wechter to WME.
Hailee Steinfeld has signed with CAA, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
She had been with Meredith Wechter at ICM Partners until the agent departed last month, putting clients including Josh Gad, Gal Gadot and Bryce Dallas Howard in play. On Wednesday, THR learned that Wechter has, as expected, landed at WME but unlike the aforementioned clients (and more), Steinfeld did not follow.
Steinfeld will be seen as a new member of the Barden Bellas when Pitch Perfect 2 opens on Friday. She also currently stars as a teenage assassin who enrolls in high school in the action comedy Barely Lethal, which hit DirecTV last month and will be released by A24 in select theaters on May 29.
Steinfeld made her feature debut in the Coen brothers’ 2010 True Grit remake, which earned her an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress at the age of 14. Her subsequent credits include Relativity’s 2013 Romeo & Juliet adaptation, Ender’s Game, Begin Again, The Homesman and Ten Thousand Saints.
She will next be seen starring as Vince Vaughn’s daughter in Universal’s adaptation of the graphic novel Term Life, and the in-demand young actress also is attached to headline YA adaptations Break My Heart 1,000 Times, Carrie Pilby and The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight.
Steinfeld continues to be repped by attorney Howard Fishman at Hirsch Wallerstein.
