Hailee Steinfeld's Debut EP Is Here
'HAIZ' is now available — and fans, including stylist Karla Welch, are excited.
Actress and now-musician Hailee Steinfeld has released her full four-song EP, as of today. The set, entitled HAIZ (the nickname bestowed to her by her fans), includes her summer hit "Love Myself" and just-released second single, "Hell Nos and Headphones."
The transition into music was a natural outcome following Steinfeld’s role in Pitch Perfect 2. As the 18-year-old explained to Rolling Stone, music isn’t exactly a new interest for her. She said, "I started gaining interest in recording music seriously after I got into my acting because I got a taste of what acting was, and I wanted to explore something else — that being music — something I'd been interested in for years. I started recording covers and would co-write when I was around 12, 13."
The EP, a precursor to her upcoming album, is under the Republic Records label and received a helping hand from pop producer extraordinaire Max Martin, the perfect match for Steinfeld’s self-described "edgy pop" sound.
Among those celebrating the actress-turned-pop star's latest project include model Hailey Baldwin, fellow musicians Joe Jonas and Fifth Harmony's Camila Cabello and her red-carpet stylist, Karla Welch, who also styled the music video for "Love Myself." Welch captioned on Instagram: "@haileesteinfeld #theclemmers and I are so proud of you and excited for #haizep #haizep1day."
Steinfeld is currently filming coming-of-age drama Besties in Vancouver.
