Halcyon taps Joel B. Michaels

'Sarah Connor' exec producer to be president of production

The Halcyon Co., producer of the "Terminator" franchise, has appointed Joel B. Michaels as its new president of production.

Michaels, who now serves as executive producer on Halcyon's Fox series "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," will come on board to oversee the completion of its upcoming feature "Terminator: Salvation."

As president of production at C-2 Pictures, Michaels produced "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" shortly before Halcyon co-CEO's Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson picked up rights to the franchise last summer. His other C-2 credits include "Basic Instinct 2" and "I Spy."

Prior to C-2, Michaels was president of Paramount-based MK Productions from 1996-1998 and produced several Carolco films, including "Stargate" and "Lolita." He was Cineplex Odeon Films' president of production and distribution from 1986-1990, working on such films as "The Grifters" and "The Last Temptation of Christ."
