Universal upped a pair of film distribution veterans Monday.

The studio promoted John Hall, who was vp exhibitor relations, to senior vp, and Scott Rieckhoff, previously director of exhibitor relations, to vp. Hall has been at Universal for 14 years and Rieckhoff for 11. Both report to distribution president Nikki Rocco.

"John and Scott are two key members of my team who have developed and maintained the kind of exhibitor relationships that make our success in this crowded theatrical marketplace possible," Rocco said. "They have a keen sense of the business and what it takes to ensure that our films are being given the most play across the country."

Hall will be responsible for the distribution of trailers, in-theater marketing and customer relations. Rieckhoff will assume additional responsibilities including in- theater promotion and field-staff supervision.

Hall will continue to work with Rieckhoff and director of exhibitor relations Lisa Holland. He joined Universal in 1995 as an exhibitor- relations rep in Dallas and moved to Atlanta before being named director of exhibitor relations in Los Angeles.

Rieckhoff also began in Dallas and eventually became director of exhibitor relations in L.A. (partialdiff)
