Hammer Gets YouTube Dedicated Channel
The U.K. label behind Daniel Radcliffe starrer "The Woman In Black" promises sneak peaks of upcoming projects including "The Quiet Ones" starring Jared Harris, Sam Claflin.
LONDON – British production banner Hammer, part of Exclusive Media, which broke local box office records with The Woman In Black, starring Daniel Radcliffe has inked a deal for a dedicated YouTube channel.
At www.youtube.com/hammerfilms, viewers are promised exclusive new content from current Hammer productions as well as restored classic Hammer movies available to stream online.
The Hammer Channel on YouTube's offering promises fresh content, previews, commentary and behind the scenes material from upcoming new productions such as The Quiet Ones starring Jared Harris and Sam Claflin and The Woman in Black: Angels of Death, the follow-up to The Woman in Black.
Classic Hammer movie output offered for streaming will include The Quatermass Xperiment, The Man In Black and Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter some of which have been newly restored and digitally re-mastered.
And there is TV on offer with shows such as Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense, as well as new on-air commentary and film introductions from official Hammer historian Marcus Hearn and Hammer archivist Robert J.E. Simpson.
Hammer president and CEO Simon Oakes said: "We hope this new platform will allow us to continue to reach fans who have responded so well to films like Let Me In and The Woman in Black, while continuing to honor the great filmmaking history of our company."
