Harris aboard 'Soloist' team

"Notes From the Underbelly" actress Rachael Harris has joined the cast of "The Soloist" for DreamWorks.

Joe Wright ("Atonement") is directing the musical drama, which stars Jamie Foxx, Robert Downey Jr. and Catherine Keener.

Susannah Grant ("Erin Brockovich") penned the screenplay based on a 2005 series of articles by Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez, played in the film by Downey Jr. Lopez's articles centered on Nathaniel Ayers (Foxx), a homeless and schizophrenic musician who dreams of playing at Los Angeles' Disney Hall.

Harris will play Lopez's co-worker.

Production is set to begin next month with Gary Foster and Russ Krasnoff producing. Tim Bevan is exec producing.

Harris, whose feature credits include "Evan Almighty" and "A Mighty Wind," is repped by Principato Young and attorney Rick Genow.
