'Harry Potter' Franchise to Receive CinemaCon Hall of Fame Award
Producer David Heyman will be presented with the honor at a Las Vegas ceremony on March 31.
The Harry Potter franchise will receive the CinemaCon Hall of Fame award for its "rare and exceptional achievements in the motion picture theater industry."
Producer David Heyman will be presented with the honor at the inaugural “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” which take place March 31.
Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of CinemaCon, made the announcement on Wednesday.
CinemaCon takes place March 28-31 at Las Vegas' Caesars Palace.
“Since the first film hit theatres in 2001, Harry Potter has created a global phenomenon unlike anything ever seen before." said Neuhauser in a statement. "Ten years and seven blockbuster films later, (it's) the most successful film franchise of all time—having entertained and thrilled audiences of all generations around the world."
The final film in Harry Potter film franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 will be released July 15.
