HBO to Air 'The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway' in March

The special is scheduled to air on March 19.

HBO will air The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway on March 19, the network announced Monday.

The special was filmed at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York in January, following the conclusion of the show's Broadway engagement.

The Pee-Wee Herman Show onstage production was based on Paul Reubens' original stage show and his TV series Pee-Wee's Playhouse.

This isn't the first time Reubens has had an HBO special. His first aired in 1981 and was directed by Marty Callner.
