Benedict Cumberbatch and Rebecca Hall will star in the five-part miniseries
Parade’s End, a five-part HBO-BBC miniseries set during World War I, has been given the green light, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Written by Shakespeare in Love Oscar winner Tom Stoppard, Benedict Cumberbatch and Rebecca Hall will star in the mini, which revolves around a love triangle between a conservative English aristocrat (Cumberbatch), his mean socialite wife (Hall) and a young suffragette.
Susanna White, who helmed HBO’s war-themed mini Generation Kill, is on board to direct. Michele Buck and Damien Timmer will executive produce. Selwyn Roberts and David Parfit will produce with production getting under way in the fall.
Parade’s End is based on the 1920s four-book series by British author Ford Madox Ford.
Cumberbactch next stars in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy; Hall’s credits include Ben Affleck’s The Town.
