HBO India MD Monica Tata to Leave Network
The industry veteran had earlier stints with Turner International India and Fox's Star India networks.
HBO India managing director Monica Tata has handed in her notice after a two year stint with the network, part of Turner International India's entertainment portfolio which also includes movie channel WB and kids channels Cartoon Network, Pogo and Toonami.
“Today is my last day with HBO,” Tata told The Hollywood Reporter. “It's been a lovely journey with HBO. I haven't decided my next steps yet.”
With a career spanning more than two decades, Tata was previously Turner International India's general manager, entertainment networks, South Asia. Before joining Turner, she was with Fox's Star India network as senior vp, advertising sales for the network's channels including Star Movies, National Geographic Channel and History Channel.
Tata is also the honorary secretary of the International Advertising Association, India chapter and a committee member for the Advertising Standards Council of India.
Tata was recognized as one of India's hottest young media executives by India's Business Today magazine in 2009. In 2014, she was awarded a Women Leadership award by the World Women Leadership Congress.
Turner/HBO haven't yet issued a statement regarding Tata's replacement.
