Heather Secrist Joins A24 Publicity Team
The publicity executive had been with The Weinstein Co. for five years.
Heather Secrist is exiting her publicity director post at The Weinstein Company to join the publicity team at distributor A24.
The move comes after a five-year tenure at TWC for Secrist, who started in the company's New York office in December 2010 as a publicity manager. She has served as publicity director for more than two years following a promotion in July 2013.
In an email to colleagues, Secrist called the move "bittersweet" following "five amazing years" with TWC. She joins A24 at a busy time for that company, which is riding high off the success of films like Ex Machina, Amy and The End of the Tour. A24 (owned by THR parent Guggenheim Media), headed by partners Ravi Nandan and John Hodges, recently announced a push to TV with the launch of a small-screen division.
Secrist's departure comes in the wake of a string of senior execs who are exiting. At the end of July, TWC chief operating officer David Glasser announced he would leave the company in November. His announcement was followed by exits or planned exits by Radius chiefs Tom Quinn and Jason Janego, and senior vp production Julie Rapaport. Meanwhile, Patrick Reardon has been upped to executive vp of TWC's television department.
