The late rapper and record producer died suddenly at the age of 44 on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The results from an autopsy have proven inconclusive and are pending the results of toxicology tests, reports the L.A. Times. The L.A. County coroner’s spokesman said last week that there were no illegal drugs found in Heavy D’s Beverly Hills home, but that he had been prescribed a drug for a cough that could have been pneumonia.

Heavy D had returned home from a shopping trip on the day of his death, before experiencing difficulty breathing and collapsing. The results of his toxicology tests could take several weeks to determine an official cause of death.
The death is believed to be medically related and foul play is not suspected. A funeral for the New York-born rapper is set for Nov. 18 at the historic Grace Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, NY, at which P. Diddy and Rev. Al Sharpton are expected to speak, according to the AP. Additionally, BET is planning a tribute for their Sunday Soul Train Awards with Curtis Blow, Naughty by Nature, Big Daddy Kane, Doug E Fresh, DJ Eddie F, Whodini and Daddy-O of Stetsasonic slated to participate.
