HGTV is in production on a new series titled "The Fixer" that centers on home renovations gone wrong.

The half-hour series, targeted for a 2008 premiere, features licensed general contractor Peter Marr rescuing homeowners from their renovation nightmares after they have been "victimized by careless contractors and their shoddy workmanship." He also will fix plumbing, electrical and structural mistakes that have been made by inexperienced crews and "ripoff artists."

In each episode, Marr will offer viewers specific and easy-to-understand information about what can go wrong before, during and after the renovation process and what homeowners should look out for.

The show is produced by City Lights Television.
