Oscar winners Jennifer Hudson and Hillary Swank, fashion trend setters Michael Kors, Anna Wintour, Iman and Hollywood players Olivia Munn, Kyle Machlan, Bette Midler and Julianna Marguiles all threw their support behind David Geffen's "God's Love We Deliver" charity on Wednesday night at Spring Studios in Tribeca for its annual Golden Heart Awards Celebration.
Kors, who co-chaired the event, presented the inaugural Michael Kors Award for outstanding community service to former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. (Her recognition came a day after she received the Elton John AIDS Foundation's inaugural Founder's Award at a benefit Tuesday night in New York.)
“This charity makes a real difference,” said Kors. “There's no questions asked. If you're sick, and at home and need food, they will be there.”
The iconic fashion designer recently donated more than $5 million to the charity that delivers free, healthy food for men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS in New York City and is set to have a new building named after him when the charity expands its Soho location later this year.
“It's such a worthwhile charity,” said Hudson on the red carpet. “It's so important to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it.”
Marguiles echoed Hudson's sentiment. "It's one of the best New York charities we have, and it helps hundreds of thousands of people," she said. "I feel like every New Yorker should be in this room if they could fit."
The event, which hosted dinner and live auction for 700 guests, raised more than $3 million.
