Hillary Clinton Praises Women's March in Post-Inauguration Address: "The Future Is Female"

The former Democratic presidential nominee released a video where she spoke to the "glass-ceiling breakers of the future."

Hillary Clinton said "the future is female" in a new statement, her first since President Donald Trump's inauguration.

In a video made for the MAKERS Conference taking place in California, the former Democratic presidential nominee praised the historic number of demonstrators who took part in last month's Women's March on Washington, as well as the sister marches around the nation and the world.

"Despite all the challenges we face, I remain convinced that yes, the future is female," she said. "Just look at the amazing energy we saw last month as women organized a march that galvanized millions of people all over our country and across the world."

She asked those watching to set an example for all the women and girls who are "worried about what the future holds" and whether women's "rights, opportunities and values will endure."

Adding, "Remember, you are the heroes and the history-makers, the glass-ceiling breakers of the future.... Never doubt that you are powerful and valuable and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world."

The three-day gathering focused on women's leadership began Monday and features other high-profile speakers from politics, Hollywood and business.
