5 Things We Want From Former Marc by Marc Jacobs Designers' New Line

So many good things (velvet! fringe!) from Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley's first collection for Hillier Bartley.

Since it was announced that the designers from the now-shuttered Marc by Marc Jacobs label would be designing their own line, we've been holding our breath to see what Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley would come up with for their first collection for Hillier Bartley.

The fall line, which is officially on sale today on Matches Fashion, as well as at boutiques Colette in Paris and Biotop in Tokyo, certainly does not disappoint. Like their work at Marc Jacobs' secondary line, Hillier and Bartley's pieces are moody and military-inspired, but with definite feminine touches including velvet, fringe and quirky bunny-shaped bags.

"The trims and details are derived from English stately upholstery and precious furnishings (curtain tassels, bullion fringe)," said the pair in a release. But while the finishes are traditional, the design duo noted that they were applied "with a punk ethos" — and we're definitely into it. Check out the five must-have pieces we'll be saving for this fall.

1. Notch-Lapel Tassel-Tie Coat ($2,848)

A fresh spin on an old classic — plus a super-fun belt.

2. Bell-Sleeve Silk Gown ($2,564)

The perfect ensemble for channeling your inner Jane Austen heroine.

3. Military Shearling-Collar Cotton Jacket ($1,345)

Did we mention the shearling collar is detachable? We're all about versatility.

4. Military Contrast-Patch Ribbed-Knit Sweater ($1,416)

The perfect cuddle-weather sweater. (Who wouldn't want to rest a head on that shoulder?)

5. Bunny Contrast-Piping Leather Clutch ($705)

This is definitely on the "things you never knew you needed" list.
