DEATHS

Robert Pierpoint, who covered the Korean War, the Kennedy assassination and the Iranian hostage crisis for CBS News, died Oct. 22 in Santa Barbara from surgical complications. He was 86.

Cinematographer Denny Hall died Oct. 20 after suffering a heart attack in New Orleans while working on Common Law, a new series for USA Network. He was 54.

Mickey Goldsen, founder of Criterion Music Corp., which published such hits as Lee Hazlewood's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'," died Oct. 19 at his home in Encino. He was 99.
