Holiday Comedy 'The Fight Before Christmas' Lands at Broad Green
Mrs. Claus leaves Santa two weeks before the holidays in a pitch by 'Daddy’s Home' writer Brian Burns.
Broad Green Pictures is getting in the holiday spirit with a new project based on a comedy pitch from Daddy's Home writer Brian Burns.
Burns will write the script for the film, which will be produced by Matt Alvarez.
The story focuses on the relationship of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Feeling unappreciated after 700 years of marriage, Mrs. Claus leaves Santa just two weeks before the holidays. Santa flies to New York to win her back and save Christmas.
"Brian has a talent for creating dynamic and hilarious stories that audiences gravitate toward," said Alvarez. "It will be a pleasure to work with him, and I know that together we will make a memorable holiday film."
Josh Reinhold will oversee the project on behalf of Matt Alvarez's production company and Lauren McCarthy will oversee the project on behalf of Broad Green.
Broad Green's Gabriel and Daniel Hammond added: "As we continue to grow, original productions like The Fight Before Christmas will become a bigger focus for the studio. We are confident that this film, under the leadership of Matt, will help build a strong base for our library of audience favorites."
The deal was brokered on behalf of Burns by Karl Austen. Christopher Tricarico, executive vp business and legal affairs and general counsel, handled it for Broad Green.
Burns, who previously worked on TV shows such as CBS' Blue Bloods and HBO's Entourage, is represented by CAA and Jackoway Tyerman.
