Hollywood Fest honors Gere, Forster
EmptyRichard Gere, Marc Forster and newcomers Ellen Page and Diablo Cody have joined the list of those to be feted Oct. 22 at the 11th annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony at the Beverly Hilton.
Gere will be honored with the Hollywood Actor of the Year Award. He stars next in Miramax's "The Hoax" and can be seen in Richard Shepard's "The Hunting Party."
Forster, who gained critical acclaim for 2001's "Monster's Ball," will receive the Hollywood Director of the Year Award. He recently helmed "The Kite Runner" for DreamWorks.
Page, who is generating buzz for her role in Fox Searchlight's upcoming comedy "Juno," will be recognized with the Hollywood Breakthrough Actress of the Year Award, while Cody, who wrote the screenplay for the Jason Reitman film, will be honored with the Hollywood Breakthrough Screenwriter of the Year Award.
They join previously announced honorees, among them John Travolta, Ben and Casey Affleck, Jennifer Connelly, Marion Cotillard, screenwriter Christopher Hampton, director Brad Bird and VFX supervisor Scott Farrar.
The Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards are presented by Starz Entertainment.
