The Chateau Marmont was buzzing with the likes of Sean Penn, Colin Farrell, Selma Blair and Sandra Bullock, who all came out to celebrate amfAR's second annual Inspiration Gala in support of AIDS research. CAA's Kevin Huvane, the night's honorary chair, and amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost oversaw an evening of cocktails, performances by Debbie Harry and Sinead O'Connor and a Christies' live auction featuring pieces from Andy Warhol (Huvane and Bryan Lourd purchased a $14,000 piece for Bullock's 1-year-old son, Louis) and Damien Hirst. However, the night wasn't only about partying: Bullock honored the late Elizabeth Taylor, the organization's founding international chairman, with a tribute and amfAR's Award of Courage. "She never thought twice to put her arm around someone who was suffering," said Bullock. "That is the gift we have as human beings. … The ability to reach out and touch, a simple gesture that gives the world of support to its receiver." -- Lindsay Flans
