The series, moderated by THR's Stephen Galloway, will be available on the streaming service starting Aug. 1.

The Hollywood Masters, a series moderated by The Hollywood Reporter's Stephen Galloway, is headed to Netflix.

Each half-hour episode of Hollywood Masters, which is filmed on the campus of Loyola Marymount University's School of Film and Television in front of a student audience, takes an in-depth look at the life and career of one Hollywood icon. The series is filmed by a crew comprised largely of LMU students and alumni.

Netflix has licensed three seasons of Hollywood Masters, totaling 36 episodes. The first season of the series, produced by LMU's School of Film and Television, will be available to stream on Aug. 1. Those 11 episodes feature talent including Ethan Hawke and Billy Bob Thornton, Clint Eastwood, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Amy Adams, Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin), George Miller (Mad Max) and Alfonso Cuaron (Gravity); producer-actor-musician Ice Cube (Straight Outta Compton); Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn; and legendary writer-producer Norman Lear (All in the Family).

"The Hollywood Masters not only introduces viewers to the best of global filmmaking, but it's also produced by our students and alumni, giving them hands-on training, professional credits and furthering their careers in the industry," said Stephen Ujlaki, dean of the School of Film and Television. "We are so thrilled that this series, which has become one of our school's most anticipated programs, will be available on Netflix for the world to see."

Added Galloway, who is executive editor of THR: "The Hollywood Masters centers on artists and filmmakers at the very peak of their careers, reflecting on their work with unusual depth and candor, and providing students and Netflix viewers with an insight they won't otherwise find. Each Masters interview is a miniature film school in its own right."

The series is executive produced by Ujlaki, Galloway and Anay Tarnekar.
