Hollywood Reporter Launches Daily Video News Series

'The Hollywood Reporter News,' debuting Feb. 1, will offer an inside look at the latest in entertainment in 60- to 90-second episodes.

In a major expansion of its award-winning video journalism, The Hollywood Reporter is launching a daily news series. The Hollywood Reporter News will capture the latest entertainment developments in 60- to 90-second daily episodes.

Debuting Feb. 1 — amid the height of the awards season — The Hollywood Reporter News will be available at THR.comFacebook and The Hollywood Reporter News’ YouTube Channel.

The Hollywood Reporter News will cover everything from industry deals to film premieres, awards shows, festivals, Hollywood style trends, celebrity news and unfolding controversies — all with the level of access and authority that THR readers expect.

The launch of The Hollywood Reporter News, which will be produced by an in-house content team out of The Hollywood Reporter News’ studios in New York and Los Angeles, comes on the heels of several successful major video and television initiatives by the leading entertainment media brand. In 2016, The Hollywood Reporter led a push into video with the creation of a Facebook Live team that is slated to produce more 1,000 Facebook Live broadcasts totaling more than 250 hours of live video this year.

BillboardThe Hollywood Reporter’s music-focused sister outlet, launched its own video news series in November and saw 25 million views in its first seven weeks. Billboard News currently is on track to garner more than 250 million video views in its first year of activity.

With Billboard’s recent acquisition of Spin Media and its portfolio of high-profile music brands Spin, Vibe and Stereogum, Billboard is primed to see a significant expansion of its Billboard News audience.

The Hollywood Reporter News is debuting with American Airlines as a launch partner. (Watch one of the episodes above.)

The news comes on the heels of THR's fourth consecutive National Magazine Award nomination for general excellence. THR.com also was recently nominated for a Min Award for editorial excellence.
