The Hollywood Reporter announced the launch of its new entertainment-meets-fashion blog “"Fash Track," edited by leading fashion journalist, Merle Ginsberg, with longtime fashion journalist Elizabeth Snead contributing. “Fash Track” will cover the flashpoints where Hollywood and fashion meet, offering readers an inside look into this glamorous intersection and the business behind it.
Additionally, in the current issue of The Hollywood Reporter, the "Fash Track" fashion news page makes it debut, with information about where to shop, what to see, and what Hollywood is buying. Carol McColgin, THR’s Style Editor, will oversee the "Fash Track' news page in the weekly edition of the magazine.
"From Oscar-winning costume design to red carpets to every last place to shop in L.A., fashion is an integral part of the entertainment business. We are thrilled to be able to use the expertise and access of The Hollywood Reporter to bring the industry alive out here, from an insider’s perspective,” says THR editorial director Janice Min.
"Fash Track" Editor Merle Ginsberg is a bestselling author, television personality and a leading expert on entertainment world fashion. She has covered award show fashion, celebrity style, and beauty trends for leading publications and programs including Women's Wear Daily, People Magazine, W Magazine, Harper's Bazaar, Rolling Stone, The New York Times Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, The Today Show, Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood. Ginsberg has also appeared as a judge on Rupaul’s Drag Race and starred on the Bravo fashion television show, Launch My Line. Ginsberg has been with The Hollywood Reporter since 2010 where she also serves as the magazine’s Senior Lifestyle Writer and writes the Rambling Reporter column.
“It’s so exciting for me to have this opportunity at The Hollywood Reporter, the ultimate authority on all things Hollywood, to use all of my experience as both an entertainment and fashion reporter throughout my long and eclectic career in both N.Y. and L.A.,” says Ginsberg. “I started writing about awards red carpet fashion for WWD in 1992, practically inventing the genre – I’m looking forward to putting all that knowledge and all those contacts in the perfect place, since it’s very hard to separate Hollywood and the fashion business anymore. They’ve come to depend on each other.”
"Fash Track" will focus heavily on awards-show fashion, with newly named Contributing Editor Elizabeth Snead dedicated to covering the latest trends from the red carpets around the world. Snead was USA Today's fashion/entertainment editor and covered international designer runways and Hollywood red carpets for over a decade. She created and was the sole blogger for "The Dish Rag," formerly Los Angeles Times' No. 1 celebrity blog and acted as a regular fashion contributor to The Envelope print sections. Snead has also reported for The Washington Post, Deadline Hollywood, TV Guide, InStyle and Australian Harper's Bazaar.
