Hollywood Reporter Nominated for 3 Webby Awards

THR's Roundtable series was honored in two categories, competing against Jimmy Fallon and James Corden's 'Carpool Karaoke,' while its Holocaust documentary series "Hollywood's Last Survivors" also was nominated for the Internet's highest honors.

The Hollywood Reporter has been nominated for three Webby Awards, which is considered the Internet's highest honor, by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences.

THR received three nominations in the online video categories for the 20th annual Webbys, which were announced Tuesday morning. The publication's Roundtable series — featuring award contenders and top talent including Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Schumer, Brie Lawson, Steve Carell, Alejandro G. Inarritu, David O. Russell, Quentin Tarantino and Ridley Scott — was nominated for best online film and video, video channels and networks, in the entertainment category. It will vie against College Humor, Cracked, CBS Interactive's Carpool Karaoke featuring James Corden and NBC Entertainment's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The Roundtable series also was nominated for best online film and video, video channels and networks, in the variety category. Fellow nominees include Carpool Karaoke, Red Bull's YouTube channel, AwesomenessTV and SoulPancake.

Hollywood's Last Survivors — spotlighting the 11 remaining Holocaust survivors from the world of entertainment, including Oscar winners, Dr. Ruth and even Judy Garland's hairstylist — was nominated for best online film and video, general film, in the documentary: series category. Other nominees in the category are American Theatre Wing's Working in the Theatre, Redfitz's Conflict, Tastemade's Heritage and Refinery29's Daughters of Paradise.

Meanwhile, THR's website was named as an honoree for best website in the magazine category. THR's sister publication Billboard was cited as an honoree for best website in the music category. Billboard also received honoree recognition in the social media, entertainment category.

The 20th Annual Webby Awards will announce winners on April 26 to be recognized at a May 16 ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street in New York. The ceremony, which will be available for viewing at webbyawards.com the next morning, is famous for allowing its winners to give speeches no longer than five words.

The Webby Awards presents two honors in every category: The Webby Award, voted on by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, and the Webby People's Voice Award, voted on by the public on the Webbys website. Voting is open through April 21.

Established in 1996, The Webbys is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 1,000-plus-member judging body comprised of executive members, leading web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities and others. This year's Webby Awards received nearly 13,000 entries from all 50 states and more than 70 countries worldwide; only eight percent were selected as nominees.
