The Hollywood Reporter's 10 Showrunners to Watch
These talented people didn't make THR's annual Top 50 Power Showrunners list, but they're on the cusp.
The Hollywood Reporter considered dozens of talented people for its annual list of the Top 50 Power Showrunners who are not only making a mark on their own shows, but on television as a whole.
Inevitably, there would be some candidates whose shows or tenure as a showrunner are too new to make the list. But THR believes they’ll have a spot next year. Those candidates made it onto our list of showrunners to watch.

The list includes Sex and the City producer Michael Patrick King whose CBS comedy series, 2 Broke Girls, attracted 20 million viewers to its premiere and garnered a full season pick up after only two weeks.
And then there’s Glen Mazzara (formerly of the The Shield) whose takeover of AMC’s Walking Dead followed the controversial ousting of Frank Darabont. All eyes are on him as the industry and the show’s fans wait to see if the transition on the currently airing Season 2 is as seamless as the network would have us believe.

Of course, actress-turned-writer-turned-showrunner for the biggest comedy hit of the new fall season, Fox’s New Girl, Liz Meriwhether is one to watch. Can she sustain the show’s rising momentum? And what other projects does she have in wait?
